As per the contemporary believe we know that Africa is the birth place of mankind but discovery of two ape like fossils in Europe which have human like teeth that dates somewhere near to 7.2 million years is spreading a very different light on our understanding.
These fossils which the scientists have discovered in Bulgaria and Greece proves that our ancestors were already present in Europe and evolving there for more than 200,000 years before any hominid.
The researchers say that these findings could change our perception completely about the evolution and origin of human beings and could also join some links that were missing with Africa origin theory. They think that a change in the climate may force those Apes like creatures to move towards other places and regions to satisfy their need of foods.
Before this oldest hominid discovered was Sahelanthropus tchadensis, which was discovered in Chand (Africa) but this creature of Europe seems to be thousands of years older than African species.
Whether Europe was the birth place of mankind or it was Africa or some other places we cannot be very sure about that. There are still some missing links available to be discovered to present a perfect picture of human evolution. Until and unless those links are not being discovered, we have to striven on these types of speculations and hypothesize.
