Qualifying For Formula One

Formula One is the apex in four-wheeled engine game. From Melbourne to Sao Paulo, it sets heart beats hustling and adrenaline pumping similar to no other game.

In the history of this great game, qualifying sessions contrasted small from practice sessions.

At every Grands Prix meeting all the drivers of the race may take part in two practice sessions that lasts for one and a half hour each. These practice sessions happens on Friday, except in Monaco where it is on Thursday. There is another session of duration of one hour that takes place on Saturday morning. On Saturday afternoon there is a qualifying session too. Though it is not compulsory for the drivers to participate in the individual practice sessions but taking part in at least one Saturday sessions is a must for the drivers in order to be eligible for the race.

The one hour qualifying session that takes place on Saturday is divided into three separate parts. Each part is having multiple drivers on the track concurrently along with the drivers running as many laps as they wish. The qualifying practice session will undertake the day preceding the race from 14.00 to 15.00 the details of which is given below:

Qualifier one: From 14.00 to 14.15 all autos are to be allowed on the track and at the finish of this period the slowest five autos could be precluded from taking any further part in the session. Lap times attained by the fifteen remaining autos can then be erased. Under uncommon situations, which might incorporate setting a suitable lap time in a practice session, the stewards may permit the driver to begin the race. Might as well there be more than one driver received in this way, the grid order could be set by the stewards.

Qualifier Two: From 14.22 to 14.37 the fifteen remaining autos will be allowed on the track and at the close of this period the slowest five autos will be restricted from taking any further part in the session. Lap times attained by the ten remaining autos could then be erased.

Qualifier Three: From 14.45 to 15.00 the ten remaining autos could be allowed on the track.

Assuming that a driver blocks an additional driver throughout qualifying, his times may be drop or he may be given a grid punishment. Any driver whose auto stops on the circuit during the qualifying session should not be allowed to take any further part in the session. Any auto, which stops on the circuit during the qualifying session, and which comes back to the pits before the close of the session, can be kept in the race until the closure of the session.
